Professional Polymer Detailing Clay
An advanced and modern detailing clay with professional results
What is it? Clay is an essential part of the mechanical decontamination process. Certain bonded contaminants are impossible to remove any other way, by using clay correctly you can easily dislodge the particles and absorb them into the clay bar. This process known as claying is essential if a vehicle is being machine polished or ceramic coated and forms a highly important part of the detailing process.
What's it made from?
The original inventor of the polymer detailing clay is Mr Tadao Kodate, a Japanese scientist who was looking for a safe way to remove contaminants from bodywork without using harsh chemicals or polishing compounds. The original clay bars were introduced in the early 1990s. Since then, technology has improved and what we offer now are synthetic clay bars made from polymer. These do not require heating up like the older organic clay, and also are much less abrasive.
What are the features? Polymer clay should be used in combination with some form of clay lubricant. this allows the clay to glide over the surface, minimising the risk of creating marring or any paint damage. We recommend making your own clay lubricant using 25ml Pure Shampoo and 475ml of warm water in a spray bottle. Clay can be used on glass, paintwork, and wheels.
How does it fit into the wash process? Clay is a decontamination product, so it should be used after pre-washing, contact washing, and chemical decontamination. This allows the prior products to do their job and allows you a fast and efficient way to clay your vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The frequency of detailing can depend on the car’s use and storage conditions. Generally, a full detail is recommended every 4-6 months. Regular maintenance washes and a top up of protection can be done more frequently, ideally every 2-4 weeks, to keep the car in pristine condition. The use of Rapid Detailer or Express Sealant make maintaining the finish super easy.

Polishing involves using an abrasive compound to remove surface imperfections like swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation, restoring the paint’s smoothness and shine. Protection provides a protective layer over the paint, enhancing the shine and protecting the surface from environmental contaminants like UV rays, rain, and dirt. Products like Rapid Detailer, Express and our other last stage protection products (LSP) like Supergloss+ wax and QDX Ceramic are all good examples.
To prevent water spots, dry the car immediately with a clean microfiber drying towel, and avoid washing the car in direct sunlight. Using a quick detailer spray like Rapid Detailer as you dry can also help. The main thing is not to allow any water to dry on the surface.
Clean the tyres thoroughly with Incinerate Wheel cleaner and brush, our dedicated tyre cleaning brush works well. After cleaning, apply a tyre dressing or gel to give them a new look. Choose a non-sling formula to avoid residue flinging onto the car’s paint
